Recent Birthday Cards

Here are some cards which I have made for individuals recently.
First up is a 60th birthday card for a man. I love the Number of Years Stamp set and I thought that I would team it up with the Wetlands Stamp Set that I have not used in a while.
I also used the Timeless Textures Stamp Set from the Spring/Summer Catalogue.

The next card was for a friend's daughter. Again I used the Number of Years Stamp Set with the Zoo Babies set. What a winning combination for a child's birthday card.
Colours used are Pool Party, Blushing Bride and Early Expresso.

The next card was for my Son and Daughter in law's 2nd wedding anniversary.
I have not used the Owl Builder Punch in a while so it was good to get it out again and blow off the cobwebs! The branch was made by trimming the leaf die from the Rose Garden Thinlets.

I used the Birthday Bouquet colours for the the last card with the Hexagon Hive Thinlet cut out of Whisper White Card Stock ovr some of the Designer Series Paper.
I also used the Papillon Pot Pourri and Petite Petals Stamp Sets and Punches.

Flower Pot Cards

Tonight I am doing a Class using the Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set.
We will be doing a Flower Pot Card as well as a mini Card in a box and 2 standard cards.
I used a stamp from Timeless Textures to add some interest to the flower pot.
I have used the Birthday Blossoms and the Petite Petals Stamp Sets for the flowers.
The colours are all from the subtles family.
I tied some Blushing Bride Cotton Ribbon around the Flower Pot.

Here is the Sentiment when you pull the card out of the flower pot. It is from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set wich I am glad to say is  in the new Annual Catalogue.

Here is a birthday card that I received from a friend's daughter. She has used the Flower Shop stamp Set which will also be in the new Catalogue. The leaves were punched using the Bird Builder Punch which is retiring and has now sold out!

Here is a Flower Pot swap that I received from Hilary Foulds at Open Stage in Telford last Saturday.
I love that sentiment from the six Sided Sampler Stamp Set.

Cups and Kettle Bundle

I am doing a Cups and Kettle Class on Wednesday, April  27th at 9.30am.
I fussy cut some of the matching Designer Series Paper Stack for the border on the first card.

I used the Pop n Cuts Die for the inside so that the kettle would pop up as the card is opened.

for the second card I stamped the cups in black and then used Stampin' Write Markers to colour in the sentiment.

This time I die cut one of the cups from the matching Thinlets and added a sentiment from the Stamp Set.

The next card was cased from Patty Bennet. The Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper gives a vintage look. I love the little Tag Stamp and the matching Framelit.

Here is the inside of the card with the small flower from the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set.

I decided to make another card using the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set to create the background.

Timeless Textures came in useful for the card insert. The sentiment is from the retired Saleabration Set Party Pants.

A simple card using Timeless Textures for the border.

Garden Blooms

I had a Garden in Bloom Class at my house on Wednesday morning. We started off with the two cards above to introduce the ladies to the set. This is a two step stamping set and in one case three step!
Everyone loved the little bee buzzing around and the cute little butterflies.

I love teaching techniques so for the next two cards we embossed the flowers with white embossing powder and then used sponge daubers to apply the colour. We also did some masking to stamp the Timeless Textures background. I really thought that I would not need to buy the Washi Label Punch but Monica's persuasive power at the last Training Day had its effect and I absolutely love it. It goes so well with the Teeny Tiny Sentiments Set.

The next card showed how to combine DSP and Vellum. The DSP is  English Garden from the Annual Catalogue and it matches the Garden Blooms Stamp Set. I found that Black Archival Ink is the best for stamping on Vellum but you need to heat set it on low so that it won't smudge. I then used Stampin' Write Markers to colour the butterfies on the other side.

For the last card there was a choice of two colourways. I wanted the ladies to use the small flower in the stamp set but it is one of those stamps that looks a bit boring on its own so I decided that I had to bring that large flower back to add interest to the card.

Birthday Blossoms

I can't believe that it is over a month since I posted on my Blog.
I have been doing some Caseing today to prepare for an upcoming Class on Wednesday, April 20th at 7.30pm. We will be using the Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set from the Annual Catalogue.
The card on the left was cased from Teri Pocock and the one on the right from Julie Kettlewell.
I switched the colour of the card bases to Smoky Slate as I am overstocked on that at the moment.
Using a neutral coloured card base is useful as you can colour the flowers any colour that you like.

I then had it in mind to do a mini card in a box. I remembered making a note of one from the Craft Spa a while ago so I looked up the instructions and I enjoyed adapting it to the Birthday Blossoms Set.
The sentiment is from the Party Pants Saleabration Stamp Set which is unfortunately no longer available. The Designer Series Paper is the Birthday Bouquet DSP.

Here is another colour combination of Rose Red, Blushing Bride and Garden Green to go with papers from the Love Blossoms Paper Stack from the Spring/Summer Catalogue.
