Paperie Retreat with Monica Gale.

Two weeks ago I went on the Paperie Retreat organised by Monica Gale at Monk Fryston Hall in Yorkshire.
It was an amazing Week-end!
On the Friday night we made these Box Cards using the Flower Shop and Festive Flurry Stamp Sets.

We then made this cute Gift Card Holder cut out with the Pop n cuts Die and decorated with a bow cut out using the Gorgeous Gift Bow Bigz Die.

The following day we made this gift box using the Acetate Cover from the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes.
I love the matching card and the envelope made using the Diagonal Plate on the Score Board.

Then we decorated one of the Muslin Bags from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. They are so easy to stamp on.
The gold line is glitter applied to sticky double sided tape.
These bags were then filled with fragrant lavender.
They smelt divine!

This is a beautiful box that was filled with four Christmas cards. The Box was made out of Natural Composition card stock and the new Season of Style Designer Paper

This is one of the Christmas Card designs. We used the Special Season Stamp Set on the Natural Ivory Card Stock and finished it off with a Frosted Finishes embellishment and some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.

This was the other design. I used my Bone Folder to distress the edges. The background was stamped using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set.
We made two of each card.

This was the icing on the cake! Monica designed this banner especially for the Week end and it is fabulous.
I am now a great fan of Heat and Stick Powder as it it provides the ideal surface when heated to adhere glitter. I tried it with clear embossing powder when I got home but there is no comparison. the heat and Stick won hands down!

On the Sunday we decorated a Decorative Window Gift Box from the Autumn/Winter catalogue.
I love the colour Combo of Tangerine Tango and Coastal Cabana.

Lastly we stamped four coasters using Stazon black ink. We coloured them in with a chalk marker and then used a blender pen with drops of coloured ink.

Paperie Retreat with Monica Gale, September 2013

Last Week end I had a blast with 30 or more other ladies at the Paperie Retreat that Monica Gale organised at Monk Fryston Hall in Yorkshire!
We made the Noel Banner using the Banner Kit in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. This was Monica's unique design and it was fabulous. She prepared all of the gorgeous glittery snowflakes for us using the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and matching Dies with Heat and Stick embossing powder and glitter!

Someone had conveniently lined up all of their projects so that I could take this photograph. I will add more detailed photos in another post.

On the Saturday night we had a pyjama party with a candy bar. Monica gave each table a stamp set and cardstock. We had 45 minutes to design one project each. Our table had Pistachio Pudding and Calypso Coral Card Stock. I made the Exploding box with the Doily and flower on the top.
We were told to use two Doilies and a button on each project.

The winner made the Suspension Card in this photo. The prize was the Snowman Stamp Set in the Autumn/Winter Catalogue.

Someone kindly took this photo of Monica and me during a tea break!

Autumn/Winter Catalogue Blog Hop 2013.

Welcome to the Autumn/ Winter Catalogue 2013 Blog Hop. I hope that you enjoyed Julie's post for those who have hopped over to my blog from hers HERE
I had fun card making with a fellow demonstrator and another friend on Friday Afternoon. I had a play with her Merry Little Christmas Stamp Set from the new Catalogue. I really enjoyed using two Stampin' Write Markers, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler, to colour the stamp in. I was impressed by the sharp definition of the image.
The Ornament was stamped and punched out using the Christmas Collectibles Bundle. I added some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and hung it from a branch punched using the Bird Builder Punch.
The Whisper White Card stock was embossed with the Fancy Fan Folder and the Primrose Petals Card stock with the Beautifully Baroque Folder which is my new all time favourite!
The card was finished off with some Seam Binding Ribbon and two Rhinestones.

The same Ornament Stamp was used here in a landscape format.
I put two strips of the Season of Style Designer Washi Tape on to Whisper White card stock which had been punched with the Scallop Border Punch along the bottom edge.
Notice that the Ornament Stamp can be used for stamping on the background card stock.
I finished it off with some Cherry Cobbler 1 inch Ribbon.
The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

This time I stamped and punched out three ornaments and put them on Crumb Cake card stock which I had put through the Big Shot using  the Floral Frames Dies.I embossed the smaller one with the Fancy Fan Folder and sponged the edges with Cherry Cobbler ink.
The greeting is from the More Merry Messages set which is now available even though it is not in the Autumn/ Winter Catalogue.

I have changed the colour combo here to Coastal Cabana and Silver. These compliment the Winter Frost Speciality Designer Series Paper.
The Encore Metallic Silver Ink Pad was used for the silver bauble. The Gorgeous Grunge stamp set put in an appearance as did the Labels Framelits, Adorning Accents Framelits and the new Silver 1/8 inch Ribbon.

Another card with the Coastal Cabana/ Silver colour scheme.
I have used the Winter Frost DSP again for the Framelit and the strip across the top.
The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set which has returned from last year but is not in the Catalogue.
The 1/8 inch Silver Ribbon finishes off the baubles and, thankfully, it is easy to tie into a bow.

Now we are moving on to the Festive Flurry Bundle.
I have added Bermuda Bay to give a contrast.
The different stamps in this set layer up well especially if you use Stampin' Dimensionals to make the card more 3D.
The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.

This card was cased from Pinterest. You can see the original HERE. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and only one layer of 1/8 inch Silver Ribbon.

Thanks to Diane Lloyd for letting me have a go with her Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set and Northern Flurry Embossing folder on Friday afternoon.
I added a 3D snowflake to the embossed card stock. The Merry sentiment is from that stamp set but the Christmas sentiment is from the Merry Little Christmas Set which I used on the first card.
Thank you for looking and now you can hop back to the beginning of the hop at Donna's Blog HERE
